Is it possible to receive other digital modes like P25 on AilunceHD1
Get one customer question:"Is there any coming update for hd1 to receive digital modes other than DMR? For example P25 ? Or NXDN ?" In other words, is the DMR radio compatible with P25 radio?  The answer should be "NO".
Firstly, what is the difference between P25 and DMR radio systems?
Project 25 (P25 or APCO-25) is a suite of standards for interoperable digital two-way radio products. P25 was developed by public safety professionals in North America and has gained acceptance for public safety, security, public service, and commercial applications worldwide. P25 radios are a direct replacement for analog UHF (typically FM) radios, but add the ability to transfer data as well as voice, allowing for more natural implementations of encryption and text messaging. P25 radios are commonly implemented by dispatch organizations, such as police, fire, ambulance and emergency rescue service, using vehicle-mounted radios combined with handheld walkie-talkie use. This format guarantees that, if the two-way radio is P25 standard, it will work with other P25 standard two-way radios even from different manufacturers.
Digital mobile radio(DMR) is a limited open digitalmobile radio standard defined in theEuropean Telecommunications Standards Institute(ETSI) Standard TS 102 361 parts 1–4 and used in commercial products around the world. DMR was designed to allow for more bandwidth on a particular frequency. Or more plainly, to allow for more transmissions in a smaller space.  DMR is a TDMA mode (Time Division Multiple Access) which means that it allows several users to share the same frequency channel by dividing that signal into different time slots. Each frequency has a slot 1 or slot 2 and each slot can be used by different users.  Each user transmits in rapid succession using their own time slot. This allows multiple stations to use the same frequency channel while only using part of the channel's capacity.
Is DMR compatible with P25 technology/systems?
No. The P25 protocol was adopted for public safety sector use and currently uses 12.5 KHz FDMA technology. Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) standard for large organization/enterprise two-way radio customers and uses 12.5 KHz (6.25 equivalent-6.25e) TDMA technology.  But if bothe DMR radio and P25 radios have analog capabilites, they can talk to each other through an analog repeater.
