The Citizens Band Radio Service (CBRS) is a private, two-way, short-distance voice communications service for personal or business activities of the general public. It also may be used for voice paging. It is authorized 40 channels between 26.965 MHz and 27.405 MHz.(11Meter band).

The 10-meter band is a portion of the shortwave radio spectrum internationally allocated to amateur radio and amateur satellite use on a primary basis. The band consists of frequencies stretching from 28.000 to 29.700 MHz.

Unlike the CB radio, you need to have a amateur radio license to operate a 10Meter band radio. Because the 10Meter band radio are allowed to have more power output than CB radios. and 10Meter band radio is intended for long rang communication. CB radio when in AM/FM mode is a max 4W output.  

Another important aspect of operating 10Meter radio is they won't be disturbed by other communications with their high power output. 

  • The 10 Meter Band consists of frequencies stretching from 28.000 to 29.700 MHz. This means that you can still use a standard CB antenna- just be sure to get an antenna that has a power rating that will handle the power output of your 10 meter radio.
